Transport profiles

As its name indicates a Transport Profile specifies how data is exchanged between two parties in the network. It defines the messaging protocol to be used and includes a specification of the protocol’s parameters, such as signing and encryption.
An example of a transport profile is the OASIS AS4 Interoperability Profile for Four-Corner Networks.
In the SMP data-model only the identifier of the Transport Profile is included.

The transport profiles can be managed in the administration UI by clicking on Settings in the top-level menu bar and then selecting the Transport Profiles tab. In addition to the profile’s identifier a reference to its specification can also be added.
